Nicko Reginio Caluya graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, specializing in Interactive Multimedia and Games from the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines in March 2013. Shortly after, he became an intern for the Interactive Media Laboratory of Nara Institute of Science and Technology. He worked in a game development company for a year before going back to Ateneo to teach as a full-time assistant instructor in 2014. While teaching, he was also under the Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences, where his research involved the use of augmented reality (AR) in the context of learning history.
He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in the fall of 2016. He is now back in NAIST to pursue a Master’s degree in Information Science.
